Dr. Sarah Beasleigh BSc., Phm, N.D.

Dr. Beasleigh supervises third and fourth year clinic interns in the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM) teaching clinic. As a member of clinic faculty she assists in Clinical education development and performs administrative duties regarding clinical education. Dr. Beasleigh attained her pharmacy degree from University of Toronto in 1989 and graduated from the Canadian of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2000. Dr. Beasleigh has additional certification in acupuncture and Craniosacral therapy. She has a private practise in Coquitlam with a focus on counselling, nutrition, botanical medicine and women’s health.

Dr. Dana Barton N.D.

Dr. Dana Barton graduated from John Bastry University in 1996. Dr.Barton has been in private practice in Vancouver and more recently in Bowen Island since that time. Dr. Barton works extensively with mind body medicine. Dr. Barton Specializes in the following conditions; Arthritis, Attention Deficit Disorder / Hyperactivity, Cancer ,Carpal Tunnel Syndrome ,Chronic Fatigue,Colitis/ Crohns/ IBS, Fibro-Myalgia, Gynecological care, Menopausal disorders ,Obesity and Psoriasis/ Eczema.

Dr. Kristen Brown BPE, N.D.

Dr. Brown supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Brown’s interest in physical fitness and exercise physiology led her to complete her undergraduate degree in physical education at the University of Manitoba in 1997. She then went on to complete her 4-year naturopathic medical training at Bastyr University in Seattle with special interests in the area of women’s health and clinical nutrition. She currently practices in an integrated health center in New Westminster with a focus on women’s health, pediatrics and counselling. Dr. Brown is also the staff naturopathic physician for Douglas College where she focuses on women’s health, athletic therapies, diet and exercise prescription.

Dr. Charlene Chan BSc(Hon), N.D.

Dr. Chan supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. She completed an honours degree in biology at McMaster University, ON in 2000 and went on to achieve her Naturopathic degree from CCNM in 2004. In addition, Dr. Chan is Board certified in acupuncture, chelation therapy and IV therapy and has received training in Bowen therapy. Dr. Chan currently has a private practise in Burnaby and Port Moody, BC where she focuses on women’s and children’s health, digestive health, reproductive health, allergies, chronic pain, fatigue and stress.

Dr. Cathryn Coe, BA(Hon) N.D.

Dr. Coe is a supervisor for third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Coe is a graduate from the University of British Columbia and the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. In her practice as a licensed Naturopathic Physician, she emphasizes patient education and good communication. Among the many diseases seen in practice, Dr. Coe has a special interest in sensitivities, stress management, mental and emotional health, hormonal health for men and women, as well as childhood illnesses and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Coe has additional certification in acupuncture and regularly attends courses and conferences in Naturopathic Medicine to stay current with the latest research in this field.

Dr. Gurinder Dayal, BSc, N.C.

Dr. Dayal supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. He is also a lecturer for several Master classes at BINM. Dr. Dayal earned his BSc. from Simon Fraser University in 1996 and completed his naturopathic degree at CCNM in 2000. Dr. Dayal integrates the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of healing in his practice. His extensive practical experience and training include: clinical nutrition, classical and complex homeopathy (homotoxicology and biotherapeutic drainage), botanical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and various injection therapies. Dr. Dayal has been practising in North Vancouver since 2001.

Dr.Karrin Fairman-Young BPE, N.D.

Dr. Fairman-Young supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Karrin Fairman-Young has a lifelong interest in health and wellness. She obtained her Bachelor of Physical Education from University of Calgary in 1993 and spent the next 12 years as a Sports Massage Therapist. After graduating from CCNM in 2004 she practiced in Ontario, Alberta, and is currently practicing in Kitsilano. Dr. Fairman-Young has additional certification in acupuncture and IV therapy. Though she has a general practice, her areas of focus are: pediatrics, sports, nutrition for youth athletes, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Kira Frketich BSc, N.D.

Dr. Frketich supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Frketich earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and biology from Malaspina University and her Naturopathic diploma from CCNM in 2002. Dr. Frketich is certified in acupuncture and bowen therapy and has completed a two year homeopathic program with Lou Klein R.S. Hom. Founder of the Port Moody Naturopathic Clinic, Dr. Frketich has been practicing in Port Moody, BC for the last 5 years where she focuses on detoxification and drainage, therapeutic nutrition and lifestyle counselling. Dr. Frketich specializes in digestive health, skin conditiones, allergies and women’s health. Over the next two years, Dr. Frketich will be studying Auricular Medicine under Dr. Adams.

Dr. Jamie Gallant N.D.

Dr. Gallant supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Gallant has been working in the natural health industry for over 10 years. He obtained his pre-med training from SFU and became a graduate of the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004. Dr. Gallant integrates physical medicine, nervous system work, along with traditional naturopathic medicine. Dr. Gallant’s special interest areas include sports medicine, musculoskeletal injuries, allergies, cardiovascular health, and nervous system disregulation. Dr. Gallant has received additional training in prolotherapy, neural therapy, applied kinesiology, Total body modification, Neural modulation technique and acupuncture. Dr. Gallant works in a collaborative manner to draw upon inner resources of each patient so that the patient can begin to understand the relationship between all aspects of their being and their current health challenges.

Dr. Aaron Hoo, B.Sc., N.D.

Dr. Hoo supervises the third and fourth year student interns in the Friends for Life clinic, an external clinic in Vancouver. Dr. Aaron Christopher Hoo graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001. Prior to this, he completed his BSc. in Psychology at the University of British Columbia in 1997. Aside from a private practice, Dr. Hoo travels across North America as a keynote speaker, educating clinicians on functional medicine. As a healthcare practitioner he believes that personalized preventive care is of utmost importance in helping people achieve their health goals. Dr. Hoo examines and includes the physical, mental and emotional aspects of patients in order to arrive at a holistic and accurate diagnosis.

Dr. Danny Jui BSc, N.D.

Dr. Danny Jui supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Danny Jui is a licensed naturopathic physician with additional board certification in acupuncture. He completed a science degree in Physiology and Psychology from McGill University in 2000 and received his diploma in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2004. He is also the first Canadian naturopathic physician to complete the residency in Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine at Griffin Hospital, a teaching facility affiliated with Yale University. Dr. Jui is currently in a private practice in Vancouver. As a health care professional, Dr. Jui realizes the importance of continuing education. He has further training in Natural Oncology from the Cancer Treatment Centers of American and hands on experience in Mind/Body medicine from the Mind/Body Institute of Massachusetts.

Dr.Aliya Kabani, BA, N.D.

Dr.Aliya Kabani supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. She had graduated from UBC in 1999 with a focus in Speech Sciences and Psychology. Later in 2006 she had graduated from CCNM and received her ND title. Dr.Kabani is dedicated to giving the highest standard of care through her knowledge of the art and science of natural medicine to assess and diagnose, which includes looking at health on a holistic level.

She currently runs her own general family practice in Coquitlam. Due to her own life experiences, Dr. Kabani’s passion and purpose lies in a specific focus on anemias, particularly chronic anemias, and blood disorders, such as Thalassemia Major and Minor. Dr. Kabani has had amazing opportunities to speak about her experience using naturopathic therapies with chronic blood disorders.

Dr. Jilla Kahrobaei BSc, N.D.

Dr. Jilla supervises the third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Kahrobaei obtained her BSc. from Concordia University and her diploma in naturopathic medicine from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2003. She received the Initiative Award n 2003 for her work on bridging the gap between conventional and naturopathic medicine. Dr. Kahrobaei has been in private practice for the last 5 years and joined Bowen Therapy Clinics, Vancouver, BC in 2006 where she established a general family practice with a focus on Bowen and Homeopathy. She has certification in Bowen, Acupuncture and has completed part 1 of Dr. Andre Saine’s course in homeopathy. At the present Dr.Kahrobaie has received research grants in the area of complementary and alternative medicine.

Dr. Nina Lange BA, N.D.

Dr. Nina Lange supervises the third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Nina Lange is the Naturopathic Physician at BioBalance Natural Health Clinic in West Vancouver. She graduated with a B.A. from McGill University in 1005, a BSc. from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2002. Dr. Lange has a general naturopathic practice with the aim of preventative family medicine that includes all ages. She is passionate about all aspects of Naturopathy and uses a wide variety of treatment modalities, always finding those that are best suited to the needs of her patients. Dr. Lange is committed to working with her patients and other health care providers as a team to provide the best complementary care possible. Dr. Lange has additional certification in acupuncture, IV therapies, Craniosacral therapy and doula training.

Dr. Sheheen Mithani BSc, N.D.

Dr. Sheheen Mithani supervises the third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Mithani earned her BSc from the University of British Columbia and completed her studies in naturopathic medicine at CCNM in 2001. Dr. Mithani is also board certified acupuncture and intravenous therapies. Using comprehensive assessments along with nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture and botanical medicine, she strives to bridge eastern and western philosophies of medicine. With experience in family health care, Dr. Mithani holds a special interest in women’s health and gastrointestinal disorders. Currently she has a private practise in North Vancouver.

Dr. Sanjay Mohan Ram BSc(Hon), N.D.

Dr. Sanjay Mohan Ram supervises the third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Mohan Ram earned his BSc(Hon) in physiology from UBC in 1999. He continued his education at BINM and obtained his Naturopathic Diploma, graduating with the pioneer class in 2004. Dr. Mohan Ram is very active in education as an adjunct professor at BINM for physiology and biochemistry and at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and at Utopia Academy. He also contributes to the profession as a board member for the CNPBC and editor of the CAND’s newsletter Vital Link. Dr. Mohan Ram treats a wide array of health concerns from infant/child to adolescent to adult and senior’s health concerns at this practice in Richmond, BC. Dr. Mohan Ram is also certified acupuncture, chelation, therapy, neural therapy as well as prolotherapy.

Dr.Vicky Radhakrishnan, N.D.

Dr. Vicky Radhakrishnan completed her medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC and had graduated in 2006. Prior to attaining her ND at the Boucher Institute, Dr. Vicky majored in general biology at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Vicky’s vision is to empower all her patients to rely on their body’s own innate intelligence to live to their fullest potential, naturally. This led to the creation of her clinic slogan: Embrace Vitality Naturally. Dr. Radhakrishnan has a special interest in treating hormonal imbalances such as: adrenal stress, thyroid imbalances, womens health, men’s health/infertility, Blood sugar problems and mood disorders.

Dr. Quinn Rivet BSc, N.D.

Dr. Quinn Rivet supervises third and fourth year students in the BINM teaching clinic. He also teaches the Pathology, Genetics, Geriatrics and Nutrition at Boucher and is an adjunct professor at Bastyr University in Washington, USA and CCNM in Toronto, ON. Dr. Rivet earned his BSc. from the University of Guelph in 1990 and his Naturopathic diploma from CCNM in 1994. He is additionally certified in Acupuncture. He held private practice in Hamilton and Toronto for 8 years before transferring to Vancouver in the Fall of 2002. Dr. Rivet specializes in kidney disease including those on dialysis and transplant patients. Dr. Rivet has recently has published his first book titled Naturopathic Applications for Kidney disease.

Dr. Paris Saeedi-Mepham BSc, N.D.

Dr. Saeedi-Mepham supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr. Saeedi-Mepham earned her BSc in pharmacology and therapeutics from the University of British Columbia in 1999 and her degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2003. She went on to complete a 2 year residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. Dr. Saeedi-Mepham’s current areas of interest include practicing primary care medicine with a focus on family medicine, women’s health, endocrine disorders and international health. She aims to work in partnership with her patients to identify and eradicate the cause of an ailment, remove obstacles that would impede healing and treat the individual by implementing a plan to meet individual’s specific needs. Dr. Saeedi-Mepham uses an eclectic approach in treating patients, including dietary and lifestyle counselling, botanical medicine and nutritional supplementation.

Dr. Neil Tran BSc, N.D.

Dr. Neil Tran supervises third and fourth year student interns in the BINM teaching clinic. He had graduated from CCNM in 2006 and received his Degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2000. Dr. Neil Tran is certified in Bowen Therapy, IV therapy/Micronutrient Therapy and Auricular Therapy. He currently Practices in Vancouver at Westgate Wellness Centre treating various chronic ailments.

Dr.Vandekerkhove, BSc, N.D.

Dr.Vanderkerkove supervises third and fourth year interns in the BINM teaching clinic. Dr.Vanderkerkove had obtained her BSc at the University of British Columbia in 1999 and became a Naturopathic Physician in 2004 graduating from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr.Vanderkerkove is the owner of a New Leaf Naturopathic Clinic in Langley BC. She specializes in Acupuncture and IV therapies.

Dr. Isis van Loon N.D., BA (Cmns), BSc, N.D.

Dean of Clinical Studies Dr. van Loon graduated from Bastyr University in 1995 with a degree in Naturopathic Medicine with a certificate in counselling and wellness. While studying at Bastyr she was also a member of the research department. Her undergraduate degrees include BA in Communication Studies from Simon Fraser University in 1985 and B.S.c from Bastyr University in Human Sciences in 1995. Dr.van Loon co-founded the Royal City Natural Health clinic in 1996. This busy practice was scaled down to part time as she started development of the clinical education program at BINM in 2001, becoming the Dean of Clinical Education in 2004. Dr. van Loon is a former board member of both the CAND and the BCNA, is currently a peer review editor for Medical Education Online, and contributed to the 1995 Naturopathic Research Agenda as an editor/reviewer. She is trained in IV and neural therapy, craniosacral, hypnotherapy, and holds a certificate n traditional Chinese medicine from the Shanghai College of TCM (Vancouver).

Dr. van Loon continues to work with the Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society in the Yukon as she has done for many years. Dr.van Loon is the BINM educational advisor to the Naturopathic Patient Database project.
