Enriching Cohort Model and Small Class Sizes
At the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine – Boucher Campus, we know the value of hands-on learning. Our cohort-model of education ensures small class sizes and honors the value of interpersonal relationships during the learning process. Classmates and instructors alike provide support and encouragement, establishing a strong community of learning.
Emphasis on the Roots of Naturopathic Medicine
The true power of naturopathic medicine lies in the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. We strive to honor that harmony by instilling the foundation of naturopathy—holistic, preventative treatment—in all of our students. Our naturopathic approach to health combines hundreds of years of individually applied treatment with modern evidence-informed practice. The simple tenets of our medicine allow the power of nature to express itself fully, allowing the healing of body, mind, and spirit.
Strong Board Exam Results
Our academic philosophy incorporates principles of research-based learning theory, conventional academic wisdom, and invested mentorships. How do we know our unique academic philosophy works? Our students consistently perform above the average of other CNME-accredited and candidate schools on the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exams (NPLEX).

Within the context of meeting the programmatic and institutional requirements of an accredited school of naturopathic medicine, individual students are ultimately responsible for their own licensure. Naturopathic licensing boards in North America operate independently from naturopathic medical schools and have different mandates. No operational policies or procedures formally bind these organizations together: all are strongly autonomous in terms of governance and policy development. Each licensing board has different criteria, rules, and procedures for becoming licensed to practice naturopathic medicine. Jurisdictional requirements for licensure can change at any time.
Broad Scope of Modalities and Practice
Our students are trained in a range of naturopathic modalities. Integrated in the curriculum, our modalities include botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, Traditional Asian Medicine/acupuncture, homeopathy, lifestyle counselling, and physical medicine. British Columbia boasts the broadest scope of practice in Canada for naturopathic doctors, as well as a population that widely accepts naturopathic practice. British Columbia recently revised legislation governing the practice of naturopathic medicine to include minor surgery, prescription rights, and additional diagnostic procedures – giving our practitioners the most comprehensive scope of practice in Canada.
Super, Natural British Columbia
CCNM-Boucher Campus is located in the historic downtown of New Westminster, British Columbia—the geographic centre of Metropolitan Vancouver. New Westminster is famed as Western Canada’s oldest city and hosts a friendly, growing community recognized for its heritage sites, parks, festivals, and close proximity to downtown Vancouver. Vancouver is a world-class city and has been consistently ranked as one of the world’s “most liveable cities.” With CCNM-Boucher Campus located steps from the nearest SkyTrain station, our facilities are accessible to students all over the lower mainland.

Mentorship Model of Education
CCNM-Boucher Campus champions the importance of strong mentorship for students. Mentors serve as role models, guides, teachers, and coaches to support our students in reaching their learning potential, encouraging them to excel and grow. Through mentorship from faculty, physicians, senior students, counsellors, and administrators, students gain insight into new skills and knowledge through example and support.
CCNM-Boucher Campus also offers a mentorship program for new graduates. Leading Innovation in the Naturopathic Community (LINC) mentorship assists students in effectively transitioning from full-time studies into professional practice. This mentorship program is a reciprocal relationship designed to benefit both the mentee and the mentor, applying a structured communication plan with mentee tasks to support the mentor’s clinical practice. LINC is comprised of exemplary naturopathic physicians who embody the spirit of naturopathic medicine, and who desire to support the continuous growth and development of CCNM-Boucher Campus students and naturopathic medicine in British Columbia.
