Entrance Awards are for new applicants to the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program.

Internal Awards are for students already started the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program. 

Entrance Awards

Boucher Institute Entrance Bursary

Sponsored by: The Boucher Institute

Number of awards: 5

Award amount: $3,000 (non-renewable)

Eligibility:

You must

  • be enrolled in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program;

  • be enrolled full-time;

  • apply for the bursary by the deadline (TBA); and

  • be receiving full-time government student loans or line of credit in the 2021-2022 academic year

Dr. Patricia Wolfe Scholarship

Through her wisdom, compassion and dedication, Dr. Wolfe has helped to create a community of contemplative and self-reflective leaders and healers. As a tribute to her enduring legacy at the Boucher Institute, the Dr. Patricia Wolfe Scholarship will be awarded to a first-year student who best demonstrates a commitment to engaging the community, and embodies self-reflection and contemplative values in her or his life.

Award Amount: $2,500 (non-renewable)

Number of awards: 1

Eligibility:

  • Student must be registered in full-time studies (minimum of 60% course load) in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program.
  • Transfer Applicants are not eligible for this scholarship.

Internal Scholarships

Gerry Farnsworth Memorial Award

Awarded to a 1st-year student who best demonstrates how their efforts to advocate and expand the naturopathic medical profession relate to Dr. Gerry Farnsworth’s efforts into pioneering the profession.

Award Amount: $1,000

Number of awards: 1

Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who are up to date with tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater).­­­­­  

Dr. Nicole Robinson Memorial Award

The Dr. Nicole Robinson Memorial Award was established to honour and keep alive the memory of a beloved Boucher Institute alumna who passed away shortly after her graduation in 2006. Nicole was a vibrant, involved student who loved Boucher and was passionate about naturopathic medicine. She is greatly missed.

Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in Year 3 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who are up to date with tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater).  

Dr. Gregory Wayne Prytula Memorial Bursary, Year 1

Awarded to the Boucher Institute student who best demonstrates his/her personal sacrifices made to join this program.

Value of scholarship: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to all students currently registered in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who are up to date with tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater).  

Dr. Gregory Wayne Prytula Memorial Bursary, Year 2

Awarded to the student who most successfully balances volunteer work, employment and student life and demonstrates his/her efforts to minimize debt.

Awarded to the student who has most successfully mastered the language of naturopathic modalities.

Dr. Gregory Wayne Prytula Memorial Bursary, Year 4

Awarded to the student who has educated himself/herself in therapies beyond the required courses at the Boucher Institute to expand his/her scope of practice.

Dr. Andy Somody Scholarship in Homeopathy

Awarded to a 2nd or 3rd year Boucher Institute student who best demonstrates why they believe in Homeopathy and how they would apply it in their practice.

Award Amount: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to all students currently registered in Year 2 or 3 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who do not have overdue tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater).  

Plant a Seed and See What Grows Foundation Bursary

The Plant a Seed and See What Grows Foundation is pleased to support a student enrolled in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Institute, in their educational journey in becoming good stewards of planet earth and who will provide inspiration to younger generations.

Award Amount: $1,000

Number of awards: 1

Eligibility: Open to all students currently registered in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who do not have overdue tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater). 

Dr. Shabita Teja Scholarship

Awarded to the fourth-year student who demonstrates resilience, dedication and persistence to the study of Naturopathic Medicine.

Award Amount: $1,000

Number of awards: 1

Eligibility: Open to all students currently registered in Year 4 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who do not have overdue tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater).  

AOR Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Year 1

Awarded to the student who demonstrates academic excellence in their studies of naturopathic medicine at the Boucher Institute, earning the distinction of highest cumulative grade point average in the program so far.

Number of Awards: 1

Value: $1,000

Eligibility: Open to all students currently registered in Year 1 of the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program who do not have overdue tuition payments and are enrolled full-time (60% course load or greater). 

AOR Scholarship for Academic Excellence, Year 2

Awarded to the student who demonstrates academic excellence in their studies of naturopathic medicine at the Boucher Institute, earning the distinction of highest cumulative grade point average in the program so far.

Award Amount: $1,000
