POSITION TITLE: Dean of Student Services

SALARY RANGE: $72,000-80,000
The Dean of Student Services oversees and directs the functions of the Student Services Department of the Boucher Institute. The Dean provides strategic leadership and management for a full range of student services including recruitment and admissions, student advising, student financial aid, counseling, career and alumni services, health services and student events and wellness.
The Dean of Student Services provides leadership and direction for services to support programs and initiatives to meet the needs of our students. This position is responsible for creating and supporting an environment that promotes the growth and development of students and facilitates open communication and information sharing between students and the administration.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Budget- responsible for development and implementation of departmental budget
Strategic Planning – manage and provide strategic direction for all areas of assigned responsibility
Human Resources – administer all aspects of personnel management (hiring, evaluating and professional development) and performance reporting for areas of assigned responsibility
Compliance – ensure compliance standards are maintained as mandated by relevant regulatory bodies
Student Affairs – Oversees the student judicial and disciplinary process
- Masters degree in a related field with a minimum of five years administrative experience preferably in Student Services on a college or university campus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills,
- Demonstrated leadership and team building skills,
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills,
- Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical and collaborative behaviours that engender collaboration, trust and respect consistent with the responsibilities of this position.
