The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) Boucher Campus is seeking an Instructor for Medical Procedures for Fall 2021 term. In this course, the Instructor provides students with instruction on identifying and differentiating between commonly-encountered dermatologic conditions.  Minor surgical techniques that fall within the scope of practice for a naturopathic physician, including outlining the risks, benefits, indications and contraindications of each, are covered.  Suturing, dressing, and evaluating surgical wounds and minor lacerations will be discussed.  In addition to didactic instruction, this course includes one laboratory session where the instructor will guide students in applying the fundamentals of minor surgical techniques to a biological model in the form of a pig’s foot or synthetic suturing model.

  • Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Hybrid of online and on-site instruction

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • The ideal candidate will be a Board licensed ND or MD

Experience

  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Experience in both online and onsite course delivery an asset
  • Background in basic minor surgery techniques
